Community Service Committee

Foster the development of pro bono activities by its members within the framework of the delivery of legal services by the profession, establish and develop liaisons with other associations and groups interested in pro bono programs, propose and review legislation that impacts on the ability of lawyers to provide pro bono service.

Annual Convention

Plan and host annual convention, including luncheon, YLD Party, and CLEs. The convention will be in Memphis, TN, for 2022.

Junius W. Williams Luncheon Director: Darius Walker

Social Justice Committee

Coordinate YLD activities to address injustices that gain national attention.

Bylaws Committee

This committee will review and draft amendments to the YLD Bylaws for submission to the NBA Board of Governors.

Legislative Committee

Assist the Association’s Legislative Committee to develop a congressional relations program on behalf of the YLD, and coordinate the division’s activities during the Congressional Black Caucus Annual Legislative Conference.

Professional Development

Organizes and coordinates professional development opportunities for YLD members throughout the bar year. This includes, but is not limited to podcasts, seminars, continuing legal education, online video content, and networking events.
